Verizon FIOS DVR Manager Now Supports Multiple Users (On Android)

Screen

One of the biggest issues I had with the Verizon FIOS DVR Manager application for both Android and iOS is that it only supported one device.  The application allows you not only view a complete program schedule for what's on TV but most importantly manage your DVR, set recordings, delete them etc. which is great for when you're out and about and forgot to set your DVR to record.

To set up the app you had to complete a special registration process in order to sync up your handset with your home DVR and once paired you couldn't access your DVR with any other handset until you paired it, thus breaking the original device's pairing.  Basically the app/DVR only allowed for one phone to be used.

Well that annoyance is now gone, at least from the Android version of the app.  An update for the app showed up in the Market Place this morning and the app now uses your Verizon user name and password to log you in when you launch it (it can also be stored on the device).  This allows you to use the app on as many devices as you want which means people with multiple phones, or multiple family members can all use the app together.

I love a useful app update in the morning.

Now where's a similar update for iOS?  Hopefully coming soon.
