Here's Hoping the iPad 2 Has Dual Cameras
I'm starting to see ramblings around the web that the iPad 2 might only have a front facing camera.
I seriously, seriously, hope that's not the case.
I for one could care less about FaceTime on my iPad.
Would it be fun? Sure, but I hardly use it now and I've got it available on both my iPhone and my iPod Touch.
I want a rear facing, decent quality camera. Period.
I want to make the iPad my go to mobile device and without a camera on the back I'm just not sure I can make it so.
I'm all about convergence devices. Having one device that allows me to snap a photo, write a blog post, or insert it into an e-mail, and the fire it off to its proper place is what I'm after. While it's true my iPhone can do all that I like I little size when it comes to heavy lifting tasks such as writing a lengthy article. I just can't do it on my iPhone. The iPad can do it too but it requires extra steps (using my own camera, uploading via the camera connection kit etc.)
Since CES the Samsung Galaxy Tab has become that device for me. Mostly due to its smaller size but also because it's got the camera. I prefer the iPad in many respects, I really do, but can't carry it as my main brain mobile device right now because of it's size and missing camera.
In a dream world, my dream world, we'll see the iPad 2 slightly smaller with BOTH a front facing and rear facing camera.
